Note that the Operating System is entirely responsible for determining the granularity of the sleep operation no matter what is requested. For example, Windows systems always sleep in "ticks" (which can be adjusted) but default is just shy of 16 ms. That means that by default the minimum sleep time is 16 ms and and multiples thereof no matter what was actually requested.
