Cannot change my email settings

(1) By anonymous on 2020-03-13 14:13:18 [link] [source]

I cannot seem to examine or change my account or email settings.

I can log into my account. In the top right corner it shows my username in black next to 'Logout' in blue. But my username is not a clickable link and I see no 'Settings' link anywhere. Help would be appreciated.

Unintuitively, if you click on the "Logout" button, that will take you to a page that has a link where you can adjust your settings.

Or, you can visit the /alerts page.

I'll try to come up with a better UX for this. But in the meantime, those are your workarounds for the moment.

Clicking on 'Logout' just took me to a Login page with no settings link I could see.

However, going to https://sqlite.org/forum/alerts worked fine. Thanks.

Tangential question:

On the https://sqlite.org/forum/alerts page, will "Forum posts" send an email for all forum topics or only the ones I opened / participated in?

If the former, is the latter possible?

The forum software doesn't support keeping track of individual post subscriptions, and doesn't know which posts you have or have not read.

Other forums that I use allow me to request email notifications of replies to any thread that I have posted to or replied to. For me, and possibly many others, this would be far more useful than either notifications for, or a digest of, posts or replies to all threads in the forum.

The forum does not need to know which posts I have read to do this: it only needs to know which threads I have posted or replied to, which can be found by a search.

I use filters in my email client whenever I need that.

The forum software is discussed on the fossil forum .

Your patches might be considered, if processor and I/O load are not excessive.

This is arguably a bug in the default Fossil skin. The "Logout" link takes you to the Settings page you're looking for.

The fix to the bug would be to put the link on the user name, not on the "Logout" link, since clicking that link doesn't actually log you out.

I class this as a bug because I have fixed it on my own public Fossil repos. (Example)

As for changing your email, that came up already in another thread
